You can personalize your QuickBooks Pro 2021 Desktop experience by changing the overall color scheme of the software. Here’s how you can do it:
- Open QuickBooks Pro 2021 Desktop and log in to your company file.
1. Go to the top menu and select “Edit.”
2. Choose “Preferences” from the drop-down menu.
4. In the Preferences window, select “Desktop View” or “Desktop & View” from the left sidebar.
5. Look for the “My Preferences” tab and click on it.
6. In the “My Preferences” section, you’ll find options to customize the following options.
VIEW
- This option lets you choose how many windows you want to see in QuickBooks. You can either have multiple windows for different tasks or one window that changes depending on what you are doing.
- One Window: This option displays all of your QuickBooks windows in a single window. This can be helpful if you have a small monitor or if you want to minimize the amount of screen space that QuickBooks takes up.
- Multiple Windows: This option displays each QuickBooks window in its own window. This can be helpful if you want to have multiple windows open at the same time, or if you want to be able to see more of the content in each window.
DESKTOP
- Save when closing company: This option lets you save the arrangement of windows when you close a company file. This means that every time you open that company file, you will see the same windows that you had before.
- Don’t save the desktop: This option lets you ignore any changes that you make to the arrangement of Windows. This means that every time you open QuickBooks, you will see the default desktop that QuickBooks provides.
- Save current desktop: This option lets you save the current arrangement of Windows as your default desktop. This means that every time you open QuickBooks, you will see the same windows that you had before.
- Show Home page when opening a company file: This option lets you decide whether you want to see the Home page every time you open a company file. The Home page shows you an overview of your business activities and shortcuts to common tasks.
- Switch to colored icons/light background on the Top Icon Bar: This option lets you change the color and style of the icons on the top bar of QuickBooks. You can either have black icons on a dark background, or colored icons on a light background.
- Note: This works only when you have selected the “Top Icon Bar.”
WINDOWS SETTING
- You can change Display and sound settings
COMPANY FILE COLOR SCHEME
- Company file color scheme: This option changes the color of the horizontal bar that shows the name of your company file on the top icon bar. You can choose from 14 different colors, such as blue, green, red, purple, etc. This can help you identify which company file you are working on if you have multiple files open at the same time.
- Click on the drop-down menu next to “Color Scheme” and choose a different color scheme that suits your preference.
- Click “OK” to save the changes.
Please note that changing the color scheme will apply to the overall appearance of QuickBooks Pro 2021 Desktop, including windows, menus, and other interface elements. However, it won’t specifically change the color of the Icon Bar.
